PipeDart Flexitrace PipeTracer – 4.5 mm, 6 mm & 9 mm is a traceable flexible rod for locating non-metallic pipes, ducts and conduits.
The flexible fibreglass rod contains a conductor which can be energised using a compatible 33 kHz signal generator. This allows the complete length of the rod to be traced from above ground, helping establish the route of a non-metallic pipe or duct.
The PipeDart Flexitrace / PipeTracer system is designed for tracing the route of underground pipes, drains and ducts where a conventional locator cannot detect the pipe itself.
The flexible fibreglass rod contains a conductor which can be energised using a compatible 33 kHz signal generator. This allows the complete length of the rod to be traced from above ground, helping establish the route of a non-metallic pipe or duct.
Flexitrace can also be used in sonde mode, concentrating the signal at the end of the rod to help locate the rod tip, identify pipe positions and investigate the location of blockages or other points of interest.
4.5 mm Flexitrace A lightweight and highly flexible option for smaller pipes, ducts and tighter access applications. Available in a range of lengths up to 100 m.
6 mm Flexitrace A versatile general-purpose system offering increased pushing capability while retaining good flexibility. Available in lengths up to 150 m.
9 mm Flexitrace The heavier-duty option for larger ducts and longer runs where additional rod strength and pushing capability are required. Available in lengths up to 200 m.
Insert the Flexitrace rod into the pipe or duct and connect a compatible signal generator. A locator can then follow the transmitted 33 kHz signal from above ground to determine the route of the pipe or duct.
When required, the system can be used to concentrate the signal at the end of the rod, allowing the operator to locate the rod tip and identify a specific position underground.
