iRis XT ATEX Videoscope

The iRis XT is a compact articulating videoscope designed for detailed visual inspection where access is restricted and the operating environment demands specialist equipment. Four-way 360° articulation, multiple probe sizes and integrated recording give operators a portable inspection system that can be deployed quickly on site.

ATEX-Rated Inspection Capability

The iRis XT is available as a Category 3 hazardous-area inspection system for applications where conventional videoscope equipment may not be appropriate. Its compact, battery-powered design allows detailed remote visual inspection without sacrificing articulation or recording.

The Rausch specification also identifies the system for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations.

The iRis XT combines mechanical articulation with digital image controls to help the operator examine internal areas from the viewing position required.

Yes. The Rausch specification identifies the iRis XT as ATEX Category 3 with the marking Ex II 3 G Ex ic nA IIC T4 Gc. The exact suitability of the equipment should always be checked against the classification and requirements of the inspection location before use.

What probe diameters are available?

The iRis XT is available with 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm probe configurations. The 4 mm version is available in working lengths from 1.5 to 4 metres, while 6 mm and 8 mm versions are available in working lengths from 1.5 to 7.5 metres.

Does the iRis XT have an articulating camera?

Yes. The probe uses four-way articulation with up to 360° control, allowing the distal end to be positioned around internal geometry during inspection.

Can the iRis XT record inspection footage?

Yes. The system records MPEG4 video and BMP still images with date and time information. Files are stored on an SDHC memory card, with support for cards up to 32 GB.

The probe and distal end are specified as waterproof up to 1 bar, equivalent to approximately 10.2 metres of water head. The probe and distal end are also specified as resistant to oils and 5% saline.
