Rausch LATRAS Lateral Pipe Route Measurement System

Measure and map the actual route of a lateral connection while carrying out the CCTV inspection.

LATRAS is the Rausch lateral tracking system for automatically recording the route of house connections and lateral pipelines. Integrated sensors measure direction, inclination and travelled distance during the inspection, generating XYZ coordinate information that can be represented graphically within PicoMaps.

More Than Locating a Single Point

LATRAS records how the lateral actually travels between the sewer and its destination, adding route information to the CCTV inspection.

Direction

Integrated sensors detect changes in the direction of movement as the inspection head travels through the lateral.

Inclination

The system records inclination information to help establish how the pipeline rises and falls along its route.

Distance

Travel distance is measured alongside the sensor information to establish the position of the inspection head through the line.

XYZ Coordinates

The recorded measurements are used to continuously derive XYZ coordinates for graphical representation of the lateral route.

Record the Route While You Inspect

A conventional CCTV survey can show where a connection enters the sewer, but it does not necessarily tell you the route that connection follows underground.

LATRAS records measurement information continuously alongside the CCTV inspection, allowing the lateral route to be reconstructed without creating a separate measurement survey.

Measurements can be recorded while travelling both forwards and backwards through the connection.

Can LATRAS record measurements when travelling backwards?

Yes. Rausch states that route measurement can be recorded during both forward and reverse travel through the lateral.

How is the measured lateral route displayed?
