The Rausch KS 135 Scan adds dimensional measurement to mainline CCTV inspection. Integrated laser technology scans the internal pipe profile as the crawler travels through the sewer, allowing changes in diameter and deformation to be measured and represented in detailed 2D and 3D visualisations.

Measure the Pipe During the Return Run

Once the CCTV inspection is complete, the KS 135 Scan can carry out the deformation measurement as the crawler returns through the pipe.

The camera head is positioned perpendicular to the internal pipe wall.

Rotate the Laser

The camera rotates at a controlled speed while the integrated laser system scans the pipe profile.

Automatic Crawler Movement

The crawler travels through the reach under controlled movement while measurement data is recorded.

Calculate the Profile

The software continuously calculates pipe diameter, deviations and deformation along the measured reach.

Turn the Scan into Measurable Pipe Condition Data

Once the measurement run is complete, the software can immediately represent the measured pipe profile in both two and three dimensions.

The current KS 135 HD laser measurement system has a specified measuring range of 150 mm to 2,200 mm.

The wider KS 135 and FW 135 inspection platform can be configured for CCTV inspection from DN135, with larger crawler configurations available depending on the application.

How accurate is the KS 135 laser measurement?

Rausch specifies distance-measurement accuracy of no more than 1% from DN150 for the current KS 135 HD laser measurement system.

Measurement accuracy should be verified in accordance with the equipment operating and calibration procedures.

Can the results be viewed in 3D?

Yes. Once the scan has been completed, the measured pipe can be represented as a 3D tube with deformation displayed visually.

Cross-sectional and flat pipe-profile views can also be used to examine individual positions and understand how the measured profile differs along the reach.
